Kyoto is located in the Kansai region on Honshu Island. It used to be the capital city of Japan and it is one of the most visited cities in Japan. Its key industries of Kyoto are information technology, electronics, and tourism. The city is home to the headquarters of Nintendo. Its traditional Japanese crafts, such as Kimono, are also a major industry of Kyoto. The cultural heritage sites of Kyoto are constantly visited by Japanese people, tourists as well as lots of school groups from across Japan and other countries.
City of World heritage sites
There are 17 of the world heritage sites listed by UNESCO in Kyoto. Most of them are Buddhist temples, shrines, and old castles. They are all stunning. The Kinkaku-Ji temple, Kiyomizu-Dera, and Nijo Castle are exceptionally beautiful. Its gardening and decoration are just exquisite. If you visit Japan it is spring, everything will be pink because it’s cherry blossoms. It is unable to explain how beautiful the city is and so it was once named as the world’s best city. If you are interested in history, culture, tradition, and especially temples, you have to come to study in Kyoto.
Academic center
Study in Kyoto is also popular among international students. There are many good language institutions in Kyoto. Studying high school and university in Kyoto is also wonderful option. Kyoto is one of the academic centers in Japan. It is home to 40 institutions of higher education. There are also many private/international high schools and universities in Kyoto that welcomes international students. Kyoto University is the second oldest, one of the top national universities in Japan and it is a top-ranking university in the world as well. The Kyoto Institute of Technology is also famous for architecture and design. Other popular private universities are Doshisha University and Ritsumeikan University. If you like cultural and natural tourism, you must come to study in Kyoto.
Living in Kyoto
Living in Kyoto is convenient. There are trains and public bus services available in several routes. Cycling and walking are the other important forms of personal transportation in the city. You can choose to stay in an apartment with your friends or stay with a local host family arranged by your school, which is highly recommended. It is safe and save but you might have to spend time traveling. However, what is more, important is you will get to live like a local and learn the reality of Japanese while studying in Kyoto.
Traveling in Kyoto
What would be better than going out and explore more of the charming city after school or on weekends. You might want to visit Gion to see Japanese old tradition and it is where you might also see Keisha too. Nishiki Market is also a traditional market. Traveling around Kyoto is also a great idea. You should visit Uji, Osaka, Kobe, Nara, or Ine, which are all worth visiting. There are also lots of things to do and places to visit in Kyoto. People in Kyoto are great. The food is delicious. The city is also very safe and clean. It is now to have a thought to start learning the Japanese language. Study in Kyoto should be then your next thought.
