It is Australia’s financial capital and one of Asia Pacific’s leading financial hubs. Sydney is the most populous city in Australia and the third-largest foreign-born population after London and New York. Almost half of the population were born outside Australia. There are a few firsts in Sydney, such as the University of Sydney is the country’s first university and it is one of the world top ranking, The State Library of New South Wales, which is the oldest library in Australia, and the Hyde Park, which is the oldest parkland in the country. They also have the Royal National Park and the Royal Botanic Garden. The most important one is the Sydney Opera House – UNESCO World Heritage Centre, which is the iconic and main tourist attraction spots. Sydney has been one of the most fascinated urban cities for travelers and international students for a long time.

A very multicultural city

     Sydney is a very multicultural city. Besides the charming attractions, it is also well known for education standard so it has welcomed a lot of international students every year. Many university students and young adults choose to study English and university here. There are many good language schools in the city center. There are various courses offer all year round including English intensive courses, exam preparation courses, and high school/university preparation courses. Its certificate course is also a very popular one for international students. Many students also come for university degrees. Despite its university’s tuition fee that is quite high in Australia, there are more than 30% of international students in their total students in higher education level. It is because of its high standard of education and probably students are allowed to work legally 20 hours per week for those who obtain a student visa.

     Living cost for those international students, who come and study in one of the most expensive cities like Sydney, still can be manageable. You can stay with a local host family arranged by your schools or find a shared room in a student dormitory or get a shared apartment/house with your group of friends. Transportation is great here. There are trains, ferries, and public buses available. There are lots of shops, department stores, and international restaurants in Sydney but you can also go to local markets or local groceries to cook your meals. You are also allowed to work a bit so this could help. Study in Sydney is a perfect match for those who love city life. Within the city, they is the famous Bondi Beach, which you can enjoy it every day. It will be amazing if you come to study in Sydney and become a Sydneysider.
