Bonjour!… Paris is the capital and most populous city of France. Paris is one of Europe’s major centers of finance, diplomacy, commerce, fashion, science, and arts. Paris’s economy is based mainly on services and commerce. Finance and insurance are 2 most top business services. Tourism is also one of their main sources of income. There are more than 20 million visitors every year. It is one of the most visited travel destinations in the world of all time. Paris is especially known for its museums and architectural landmarks. Versailles Palace and Fontainebleau Palace are the most popular spots and they are also registered as the world heritage sites by UNESCO as well as the historical area along the Seine River in the city center.
Capital of museums and fashion
There are lots of great museums in Paris. Louvre is one of them and it is also one of the most visited art museums in the world. There are the famous painting of Mona Lisa and the statue of Venus de Milo, which are considered as the world’s treasures. Some other important museums are the Pompidou Center National Museum of Modern Art, which has the largest collection of modern and contemporary arts in Europe. Rodin Museum and Picasso Museum are as well most visited museums. The City of Science and Industry at La Villette and the National Museum of Natural History have welcomed about 2 million visitors yearly. Paris is also known as an international fashion capital. It is home to some of the largest fashion brands in the world, such as Dior, Versace, Gucci, and Chanel, as well as there are many famous fashion designers, like Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy, and Christian Lacroix. Paris is also the home of the world’s largest cosmetics company, L’Oreal, as well as top luxury fashion brands, like Louis Vuitton, Hermes, and Cartier. There are so many things in Paris. Living your time in Paris
Living in Paris is manageable even though it is one of the most expensive cities in the world. Public transportation is great. The city is a major railway, highway hub of the country. There is one of the busiest subways in Europe. Public bus and tram are also available. Most shops, restaurants, and department stores are in the city center. Local markets, groceries, and supermarket are important because it is where you can buy everyday food. You can choose to live with your friends in a shared apartment or a student dormitory. However, we recommend living with a local host family provided by your schools because you will get to practice your language and learn French culture with local people.
There are lots of activities to do after class and tons of places to visit in Paris. A common routine could be sitting with your friends in a park or café. If Paris is not enough, with a Student Visa you can travel to other EU countries too. You might be ending up in Rome on one weekend and Barcelona on another.
