Living in Tokyo is very convenient. Public transportation is just world-class. There are subways and bus services available. Restaurants and convenient stores are everywhere. There are shops, local markets, and department stores available. You can choose to share an apartment with your friends or stay with a local host family arranged by your school, which is highly recommended but it comes with longer time to commute as the residential areas are usually outside of the metropolis and it could take up to an hour. There are plenty of things you can do after class in Tokyo, such as visiting museums, shopping or sitting down in a park with your friends. There are varieties of transportation you can take to travel around including subways, buses, trains or even walking.
